Wayward Pines Episode 208

It's official! Episode one of season two of Wayward Pines has officially aired. (May 25th at 9 p.m. on Fox.)

I actually had a chance to watch, and I quite liked it.

Even though episode 1 has aired, we are still hard at work, this week filming episode 8. The gang was all here at our studio in South Burnaby for the start of the week.

The second day of the week found us back at Riverview Hospital, this time at the iconic Crease clinic.

and then I found myself down in the "tunnels" below the clinic. Still creepy even with other people around.

I cannot even envision what these were used for in the day.

At least the catering isn't creepy, actually quite good.

Today, three of the stars ( Tom Stevens, Christopher Meyer and Kacey Rohl) surprised the show runner Mark Freidman with a cake to honour the airing of the first episode.

Omg! Part of my duties may include a Starbucks run. Today it included a quad espresso with 8 shots for the director! Yikes!

Speaking of Starbucks, I found a new one down at the north end of Burrard in Vancouver. A new place to hang out before my exec or cast pick-up in the mornings. This is the fourth one in a one block radius I have discovered.

Back in the Coquitlam neighbourhood that serves as Wayward Pines. I did not feel too guilty as I watched the action in my side mirror in the dry comfort of my Ford Flex on this rainy, rainy day.

even the Canada Post mail boxes have been adorned with the Wayward Pines logo.

The grip brothers supplied some much needed rain cover for the exterior scenes.

Ha! I can also see our number one, Jason Patric, pleading his case to a Wayward Pines soldier in one of the episode 208 scenes.

It is an idyllic neighbourhood, that's for sure.

and there is a little park with a little pond, it is quite the perfect neighbourhood.

except for the bears. There were three spotted today, two blacks and one cinnamon. In my side mirror I spotted the conservation officers arriving with a live bear trap.

The number one story in Vancouver right now, the high high real estate prices.

People are desparate enough to camp out overnight! I have personally been to open houses that turn into a circus with desperate people just trying to find a place to live.

Wayward Pines episode 203

The week started with us infiltrating the Coquitlam neighbourhood (again)  that doubles as Wayward Pines. After finishing episode 207 of Wayward Pines, (first episode of season 2 airs on Fox 9 p.m. Wednesday, May 25th.) we started on episode 203. (We shot the episodes out of sequence due to actor availability)

The week started at a familiar location, Riverview Hospital. Today we were using a different building that served as one of the Wayward Pines school buildings.

Outside of the Wayward Pines hospital. In my side mirror, I don't think 2 hour parking is long enough for this long shooting day.

Cooler weather this week as I waited for my exec pic across from the Pan Pacific hotel and the Vancouver convention center. 

Actually, the weather change was kind of refreshing. I bet the tourists were not as thrilled, though.

Less than 40 minutes from downtown Vancouver we were back at the Blieberger Farm in Langley.

Things are not going so well again out at the farm. (It's ok, we are in make believe land, it's not a real person, just an effigy of one of the characters in the show, that's all I can say!)

It's a one lane road in and out, and it's always a traffic kerfuffle.

up ahead is where they filmed the first part of the day. (including, apparently, a tame deer, that also apparently, was important to that particular scene). They have animal wranglers that bring the deer in especially for scenes like this.

I had to go investigate the 100 set.

This gate is similar to the one that keeps people out of and mostly in Wayward Pines.

Once in awhile I have to shake off the rust and remember my trucking roots. A few of us came in on Saturday to move the trucks that were curfewed in (11 p.m.) at the park to the studio in Burnaby. I was saddled up with the electrics truck.
