The most wonderful time for a beer.......

Christmassy vibe at Science World on this morning as I awaited my cast pick-up.

Being part of the BrightLight Pictures family means being ready to switch gears. For three days in December I drove around execs from MGM+ as they scouted out studios and locations for the next best greatest series to hit Vancouver, lol. We started at the Grand Villa Casino in Burnaby.
Moved onto Costco in Burnaby. (Apparently they are film friendly, after hours of course.)
Checking out one of the studios in Burnaby......
Apparently studio space will be at a premium in the New Year, now that the writer's and actor's strikes are over.
Checked out Martini Film Studios in Langley as well.
All that scouting makes one a little hungry. Ahhhhh, the tuna poke bowl at Earl's in Langley gave me the fuel to carry on.
In the afternoon we checked out the Otter Co-op in Aldergrove......
Martini Town back-lot in  Aldergrove was getting into the Christmas spirit.
Yikes! Missing Gingerbread man? Sorry we couldn't stay to help find him.
Looking for the perfect cul-de-sac, on this day we were at Tall Timbers in Langley.
When we got back from scouting, I was back at my post at the Good Doctor base camp, waiting for wrap.
Day 2 of scouting started at the Parq Casino in downtown Vancouver.
Checking out Jericho Beach and Spanish Banks........
......I consider this a fringe benefit of doing these scouts.
Next stop, the University of British Columbia, in particular, the library building.
I was parked next to this monument which states "Tuum Est." (It is yours, fitting)
Still at U.B.C., next was the Cecil Green Park House.
Day three started with more cul-de-sacking, this time in Port Moody.
Off to North Vancouver, specifically the Lower Seymour Conservation Area, where we arrived at.......
.......the "MacGyver Cabin."
Nice to be out of the city, and will be nice when I get the mountains off and out of the inside of my cast ride.
We also checked out the "Murdo-Frazer Cabin." This one, which is in North Vancouver, has been used by many productions over the years.
Last stops were at hotels downtown, including the Westin Bayshore. Soon after was dropping them all off, and then straight to the car wash.
A couple of more days until the Christmas hiatus. Both of my mornings started at Olympic Village.

Back at home, Ritsue was getting her Origami on, making little gifts for the kids at the school she was working at as an education assistant.
My goodness that's a lot of folding.
Cast driving duties include picking up throat lozenges for one of the executive producers. A lot of people getting sick going into the holiday season.
Someone at the studio tested positive for covid, so I tested myself at home that night, can't be too careful when your driving the Good Doctor.
A different view looking towards downtown on this morning. (Habitat Island, by Olympic Village, in the foreground.)
I had no idea this little duck pond was just west of the village.
The last morning before the break, they were filming on the 4th floor of the Parkade. I was doing my usual standing by until it was time to go up and get the cast.
My turn to take the film drives after wrap.
The last day before the hiatus. No filming, just airporters and errands for the production. All is quiet again at the San Jose Saint Bonaventure Hospital.
Had the whole hospital corridor to myself.....
.....behind the scenes......
"All clear!", at the emergency ward.
Nurses station, everyone's gone home for the holidays.
Wow, that was a beautiful start to Christmas Eve.
Well, this was our first time tackling a rib-eye roast. Quite a chunk of meat.
The snacks were out........
The Charlie Brown Christmas tree was up.......
The roast was cooked, (Ritsue nailed it!) all in anticipation of a ..........
....but first the random, Unk has put bro Skip back in a Datsun, a story for another time, pic.
......also, the random, junior got a great Western Tanager pic up in the Okanagan, pic.
....in anticipation of a great Christmas Eve with family. (and it was)
Christmas morning, Ritsue was quick to build one of the gifts Santa left her in her stocking.
The end of the year, Wordle is still driving me nuts, pic. All the best in 2024!

Another new day has dawned.......

Ahhhh, another glorious morning.

After a stressful trip to Metrotown Mall, it was time for a soothing brew at the Burnaby Royal Canadian Legion.
The foggy, new condos close to the Bridge, pic.
Hanging out in the parkade at the Bridge Studios, there goes the SkyTrain.
Waiting for cast on this morning, I noticed B.C. Place  was sporting Canadian flags, in honor of Christine Sinclair, a Canadian soccer legend who was retiring that night.
Ahhhh, back to the, only in the film industry, silly duties. On this day it was a trip to Metrotown to pick-up "stuff" for the make-up department.
Another new day, another standing by waiting to pick-up cast at Olympic Village. Nice view of Vancouver, the North Shore mountains and the Cirque du Soleil tents.
Underneath Rogers arena, wow did I have rock star parking...........
.......for the Canucks game against the Carolina Huricanes.
The mandatory "hey look at us at the hockey game", pic. That wasn't our view of the game.....
......this was, not bad, eh? (Canucks won the game 4-3, yay!)
Well, I guess this makes it official. We are finally back, season 7 of the Good Doctor has begun filming, yay!
