The Good Doctor season 4 episode 7

Episode 3 of season 4 of the Good Doctor introduced 6 new interns competing for 4 jobs at the San Jose Saint Bonaventure hospital. We watched it this past Sunday night, it was a lot of fun!

The view southeast over the lower mainland from my balcony, always something to see.
There was a Teamster 155 union meeting via Zoom a couple of Sundays ago. It is actually nice to be able to sit at home, and still attend. The big news was we voted to buy a building in Burnaby that will be the union offices in the future. (A bargain at only $4.65 million!) Up until now we have been renting space from our sister union, Teamsters 213.
Looking across Burrard Inlet towards the north shore mountains, the snow level is creeping lower.....
......wont be long until ski hills like Grouse Mountain will back in business. (If covid allows?)
Waiting to pick-up cast on a Tuesday, I had a chance to walk around Kits beach. The water level was very high..........
.....waiting for the same cast member on Thursday, it was a different scene.
Random, walking around Kitsilano, ground cover pic.
What are those crazy Teamster peeps Mike, Bob, and John up to? Dragging that basketball hoop down the Main St. of the studio, hmnnn??
Well, here we go again. I got my cast Suburban back from the shop on a Friday, and on Monday it was dead again. Could not even boost it........
The volt meter was all over the place.....that's ok.....
.....that's not okay......
......and that is also not okay, too high....
I took it out to the shop in Maple Ridge. They rent out many vehicles to the film industry. You never know what you are going to see.
I left my Suburban at their shop.....
......and left with this Suburban. (Temporary, today I am back in the other one. Turns out, yawn, the negative cable, yawn, had a short in it, causing the starter to fail, yada, yada, yada.)
I got back just in time to enjoy a slice a pizza from the Wood Fired Pizza truck, graciously paid for by Dr. Lim (Christina Chang) and executive producer and director Mike Listo.
......another six day week. This past Saturday, base camp was set up at across the street from Vancouver Community College, which serves as the hospital's cafeteria.
My nephew and his niece out in Alberta, I'm saying it's too soon!, lol.
Whouda thunk it! You learn something new every day, or in this case, blog.

Covid +

The sign (or light) of the times. Normally at the Bridge Studios when the red light is on, it means they are filming on the stage. These days it could also mean don't go in because they are cleaning the stage, part of the covid protocol.
This week we are filming episode 6 of season 4 of the Good Doctor. I spent a lot of my time standing by on the "Main St." of the Bridge Studios.

A "bloody Mary" Saturday.
Check the size, time to get new winter tires on my cast vehicle.
The tire store I take it to is in Port Coquitlam. While I waited I went to the Waves coffee shop across the street........and there it was!..... the bitcoin machine fellow Teamster peep Rocky and I tried out back in 2017. (We'll save that story for another day.....)
The weather was decent enough to sit outside and enjoy with my "coffee news".
The things you notice when you've been through the car wash a thousand times. I'm being pulled through at one k.p.h., lol.
Anything can be incorporated into my daily cast driving duties. Today it was taking care of a cast member's recycling, lol.
My new ride!
Hopefully, temporarily. I'm having electrical issues with the Suburban. It got towed out to the owner's shop in Maple Ridge.
I haven't bragged about our caterers for a long time! (In case you wondered, that is a mac and cheese ball in there.)
It's bad enough our transport captain is feeding the crows at dusk every night, but now our new security guard is doing it as well. I'm tired of cleaning bird poop off of my vehicle all the time!
That's a wrap on this filming day. All is quiet at San Jose St. Bonaventure hospital.
This past Saturday Ritsue and I had a chance to visit my grandparents grave out in White Rock.

On the way home we stopped in the quaint town of Ladner, located on the banks of the Fraser River.
It was a grey day, but we still managed to get out for a short hike.
I'm sure we will be back in the spring when things are a little brighter.
Being parched after that short hike, we headed to Sharkey's seafood bar and grill, a local favourite in Ladner.
No, those aren't chicken breasts. I couldn't not believe the size of those oysters!
One more stop,  Lowe's Home Improvement in New Westminster. A little too soon to bring out the Christmas cheer if you ask me. Bah Humbug!, lol
.
Now that's punny!
On a serious note. Last week Sheila Kelly, wife of Richard Schiff (and who also plays his partner on the Good Doctor), announced they both tested positive for covid-19. As of today, Richard is in the hospital, but apparently improving. Their son Gus also has tested positive. I wish them all the best and a full recovery.
We continue to film the Good Doctor. Richard and his wife had not been on the set in many weeks. A reminder how vulnerable we all are. I'm glad we still get tested 3 times a week at the studio.

The Good Doctor, season 4 episode 6

Yes, I did. What a debacle the election was and still is.

Still some great walking weather!
We went to Wings for, well, wings! Now with the increase of covid, we will probably not go out to a restaurant for a while.
Someone is dancing in the moonlight......(or maybe stretching?...)
Now that's a beautiful sunrise over Mt. Baker right there driver!
Only one day off again last week, but enough time time to create my world (in my mind) famous banana pancakes!
Never get tired of that view.
So many vistas.
This was kinda cool. I could go online to make sure my mail in ballot was received. Mailed it on Sept. 18th, not received until Oct. 26th!
Waiting for cast, staged myself facing Main St. in Mt. Pleasant.
Another day, another "standing by for cast" (Dr. Lim) moment. The rain was just starting on this early morning in Kitsilano.
I don't drive down Hastings on the eastside very often. The homeless and drug addicted situation has gotten worse. Very sad to see.
Random, studio, the light and rain makes the pavement look green, shot.
Waiting for Dr. Lim again. (She has a busy schedule, episode 6 is all about her.) This time my hang-out was Fisherman's Wharf by Granville Island.
Saturday. This bike is perfect for me, it has training wheels!
Actually, on the day, the bike will be towed behind this process trailer. The camera will be mounted on the back of the truck.
Setting it all up, it took a lot of the day to get it ready.
This episode is all about Dr. Lim, that's all I can say, lol.

Down where we were filming in South Burnaby, there were many different fungus among us, hyuk.
This was an interesting "golf ball like" specimen.
Our crew took over the Glenlyon Parkway for the whole day, much to the disdain of many unwarned motorists.
.....wow, look at me, looking all badass in my Teamster vest!
Dr. Lim brought a coffee truck in for the whole crew! I opted for the 4 berry smoothie!
Meanwhile, on Jimmy Kimmel, the Good Doctor himself, Freddie Highmore, was showing off his covid beard!
