One sleep to go..........

My week started with a nice little stand-by at Trout Lake in Vancouver as I waited to pick-up Susie, our medical consultant for the show. One more sleep and episode 8 of season 5 of the Good Doctor will air! That's been a long time coming, for sure.

Later, my view of Burrard Inlet while I waited to pick-up Dr. Reznick was pretty snazzy as well.
My sis sent this pic looking north on Okanagan Lake in Penticton on the same day, equally as beautiful.
Early morning, hey wait a minute, I recognize that car (cars?), at the studio. Hmnnnnnn, the striped tomato (tomatoes?) is/are back!
The next day I found out why. This, what they call the process trailer, arrived at the studio.
On this day, one striped tomato was towed behind the trailer, and the cast said their lines as the vehicle was towed around the streets of Burnaby close to the studio. The other striped tomato will be used for a drive-by shot showing the cast zooming by......

I had the most fascinating job of all, driving behind and in front of the process trailer and striped tomato in a 15 passenger Ford Transit van. Inside were the camera monitors for the camera, the director, the director of photography, the writer, the script supervisor and the sound department. It was interesting to listen to the director coaching the actors as we made a total of six trips around the streets of the studio over 5 hours. The cameras were mounted on the process trailer as well as on the striped tomato. Wish I could tell you what was going on but you're going to have to wait until episode 15, lol.
Random, shake the camera and see what type of a vehicle dash image you get, pic.
We do not go on the road very much, after all, this is a hospital show. It was a nice change to be parked on Hastings Street in Vancouver for a scene that we shot at an automotive repair shop.
The pics are out of order, but Friyay was something to celebrate! (oh ya, and the shrimp cocktail as well!)
We also filmed one scene at Matchstick coffee roasters at Kingsway and Fraser in Vancouver. Can't tell you what that one is all about, either!
While all that on the road stuff was happening last week, the San Jose Saint Bonaventure hospital lay dormant.
Last Wednesday night and Thursday morning was a reminder that some people should not be out driving when the roads were as treacherous as they were. Surely that will be the last blast of winter?
Wordle is getting trickier or cleverer, anyways, Ritsue and I are still hooked on it, for now.

covid schmovid........

Don't let covid get in the way of the 18,932 fans at the Canucks game on Saturday night.......

We were back to the ball diamond in Burnaby to finish up a scene from episode 512 (starting episode 515 tomorrow). We had to re-shoot due to actors having covid. The Good Doctor will finally be back on the air on February 28th!
One never knows what errands they will be called upon to do throughout the day. (This was for the director.)
Random, even for me, not sure how I ended up taking a pic of my coffee mug on the bathtub, shot.
Hey wait a minute, I recognize that cable. What's it doing in the office stairwell?
Turns out one of the other shows at the Bridge Studios, "The Fall of the House of Usher", was filming up on the 3rd floor.
Hmnnnnn....outside our stage 9, what's going on in there? (The tent was to keep the light out at the doors that play as the hospital ambulance bay.)
Ha! I was the picture car guy today. (I manned the one ambulance under the black tent.) On action, I was entrusted with turning the lights on. You should of seen me flick that switch. Nailed it!
I could see a background performer in the rear on board camera.
Also, I could see Dr. Glassman in my driver's side mirror. That's the closest I've been to set since the whole covid thing began.
Well, back to the good ole hockey game. It was time for a frosty beverage at the Black Frog Eatery in Gastown..........
......before we met up with Teala and Duncan at the event.
We had good seats, 11 rows from the ice. Anaheim took the fans out of the game from the start, scoring 5 straight unanswered goals, and kicking the Canuck butts, 7-4.
A blast from the past that showed up on Instagram, a shot of Christina, Fiona and Paige, from season 2 maybe?
Well, there it is. My 5 day covid beard. A week and a half ago, both Ritsue and myself came down with covid. We were hit particularly hard. We both had chills and fever, tired, achy, and the constant coughing, yikes. My test results came in at 4 a.m. on a Friday morning, and we spent 5 days at home in quarantine. Thank goodness the kids brought us medicine and supplies to get us through it.
We had to humor my sister and her husband with our quarantine 2022 covid dress up pic, lol.
A little scratchy, my throat inside and out. I would never continue to grow that beard, too much white!
Hopefully the worst is over, stay safe and healthy everyone.

Soccer mom........

Well, I got my new Chrysler Pacfica, and I was teased by my fellow Teamster peeps mercilessly. They made jokes about being a soccer mom, asking for orange slices and juice boxes, yeesh!

None of this would of happened if my brand new Ford Expedition didn't poop out on me when I arrived at Bridge Studios last week. It started to shake and shudder, and the power was dwindling. The check engine light was flashing, and I was told to put it on the hook.
Turns out it was a bad spark plug. They had to replace the ignition coil as well, what an inconvenience.
Hanging around the studio, you're bound to see something new. Not sure what show this beast will be part of.
Got my ride back a couple of days later. An early morning shot outside of the stages, I brought in one of the guest stars for episode 512 well before (0545) most of the crew arrived for the 0800 crew call.
The random, let's take a picture of the ground, but really doesn't look like much, pic.
I have never, ever said that we are not spoiled on the Good Doctor. The lunch menu on this day was quite satisfying to say the least. Kudos to the caterers, who are also part of the Teamster brethren.
The writer on episode 513 is a huge hockey fan, who grew up in Minnesota, a real hockey state. I brought in some of my old memorabilia, which included this stamp book from the 1970-1971 N.H.L. season, which he quite enjoyed. (Only 14 teams back then, now there are 32.)
The this weeks view while awaiting to pick-up Dr. Reznick.
C'mon Walmart! A little soon, don't you think?
There's Ritsue, it's her turn to get her covid booster shot. I received mine just before her. Still a lot of covid cases at the studio.
A star is born! Ritsue had a chance to be a background performer on one day of episode 513. She had a lot of fun on set, and as she was leaving we bumped into Fiona who was in the next scene.
Birthday wishes from my daughter, hmmmnn. (She knows how I feel about felines, lol)
Yay, got this day's Wordle in two tries! (Yes, I'm addicted like a lot of other people.)
