The Good Doctor Christmas hiatus.

I don't know why I find this picture so fitting for 2020. (The please wait here in the puddle, please, was outside a Starbucks I went to one early morning on my way downtown to pick-up cast.)

Well, another one of my cast driving duties. Looks like Christmas is coming early (the pic is 10 days ago) to the Dr. Reznick (Fiona Gubelmann) household.

She showed me this very detailed stocking that her mother had made for her daughter, amazing!
Hitting the Starbucks on Robson, just outside, I love this old apartment building, built in 1908.
December 15th, the caterers spoiled us with this extraordinary lunch feast. It was a little early, but they wanted to do it on the Good Doctor himself, Freddie Highmores', last day.
Our last day of filming for 2020, December 17th, and the menu was just as impressive.
Inside the covid testing area, a little Christmas lightheartedness.
Next door to our stage 12, was this set used by a show called "Midnight Mass." I'm not supposed to show anything from the Good Doctor sets, but.......
.......I did sneak a couple of pics of their set as they were tearing it down........
..........I'm not sure what was going on inside of this church........
.......but I don't think I will be going to mass there anytime soon.......
Nice! Good to see the grip brothers getting into the Festivus spirit! (it has a history, even before Seinfeld made it famous)
Fitting, on the last day of shooting this guy would show up. Edwin is arguably the most recognized background performer in Vancouver. I first met him when I moved to Vancouver and did my own share of background performing. He's quite a poser, lol, but we love him!
Do you know what this is? No, it's not just an ordinary banana, it's actually one that was previously owned by Dr. Audrey Lim (Christina Chang) of the Good Doctor. I was awarded it after dropping her, her hubby and her daughter off at the airport. (They fly home for 7 days, and then come back and quarantine for 14.) I was going to sell the ripened treat on eBay for big dollars, lol, but alas, Ritsue did not get the memo and she ate it!
I just happened to be parked when the executive producer and co-founder of Brightlight Pictures pulled up to his parking spot. (No, he is not handicapped, but it's still his spot!) He was not very happy to find the Bridge Studio's maintenance person's golf cart parked there. It was quite a stand-off, and eventually the maintenance sheepishly drove away after a bit of wiggling to get out.
As if we are not spoiled enough, on the last day of filming production brought in an ice-cream truck. Yum yum, maple walnut for me, please!
Speaking of spoiled, I wonder how many signs would be knocked over if we didn't have these great back-up cameras on our vehicles?
The evening was topped off by a visit from the coffee truck, it's a tough job, but someone has to do it, lol.
The following Friday was a wrap up for the hiatus day. That included collecting all of the set walkies and turning them in for maintenance and recalibration.
Our transport coordinator Andrew gave us a Christmas tree ornament that so suits 2020!
He also gave us this nifty Chevy truck ornament, personalized with the Good Doctor logo.
Random, sent to me, unsecured load of lumber pic. The driver is one lucky pup, he'll be home for Christmas. (Makes me think of all the lumber loads I used to haul back in my younger days , although I have never had that happen.)
.....and the Good Doctor hiatus has begun, We wont be seeing Dr. Reznick, Dr. Lim, or Dr. Murphy until January 11th.
Happy holidays!

The Good Doctor Season Season 4 episode 9

The covid pandemic has made it a Zoom world. (and I learned a new word, videotelephony!) I have used Zoom for online courses and meetings, but this past Sunday I had a chance to be part of a surprise birthday call to my old friend Rob, who lives in Woodstock, Ontario. He was grumpily surprised, lol.

My early morning view of Vancouver as I was waiting to pick-up Dr. Reznick. Already filming the 9th episode of season 4, wow.

With these cold and rainy days upon us there is a lot of hunkering down at the studio in my cast ride.
Hey, I only take the pictures. Teamster captain Ward has given new meaning to the "ugly" (and possibly offensive) Christmas sweater.
My daughter was gifted with her own ugly Christmas sweater.
More Christmas spirit. I spied this decorated tree on 1st. Ave. in Kitsilano as I was waiting to pick-up Dr. Audrey Lim.
On the call sheet I like to keep track of which cast driver is picking up which cast, which cast drive themselves and highlight the ones that are finished for the day.
The film for day 3 of episode 409 has been entrusted to me.
Omg! Fiona Gubelmann (Dr. Reznick) surprised me with this Christmas gift as a thanks for all the rides I have given her to and from work.
Friday night, hanging out on Homer St., waiting for the executive producer, shot.
I guess this is the bonus of working another 6th day Saturday. I was up early enough to see this stunning view of Mt. Baker from my balcony. The fog was over the Fraser river.
I think I like this angle better.
A great view of the moon and Venus as well.......
......and to top it off, a few minutes later the sun rose!
This u.f.o looking shot is actually a condo across the street from the Bridge studios. The sun was shining on the glass through the fog.
Once again we spent our Saturday at Vancouver Community College, home of the San Jose St. Bonaventure hospital cafeteria.
I was hiding around the corner, like a cat, ready to pounce! (pick-up the cast, actually)
The car parked in front of me. Head north, you're almost there!
Some of the crew that grew up in Vancouver remember when there used to be a velodrome on the VCC building site.
From my vantage point I can barely see two people up on the 2nd floor.
Hey, that's Dr. Browne (Antonia Thomas) and one of the newbie doctors, Dr. Enrique Guerin (Brian Marc).
When you see the crew starting to move equipment, like this camera crane, it means we are getting close to wrapping up our week.
Not much time left to enjoy the salad bar.......
.......and maybe a bun. (but I got my hands slapped, lol, the food was actually part of the set decoration for the cafeteria).
I love the attention to detail on the sets.
Meanwhile, bro Skip and Doris sent me this shot of them in Whistler, nice!
.....and meanwhile on Facebook, I saw a lovely post of my nieces Erin and Megan with their mother after putting up their Christmas tree.
.....and the fans are upset because after the airing of episode 5 on November 30th, they were informed episode 6 will not air until January 11th. (oh well, time to watch all those Christmas shows, I know I will!)
