On the air!

As the week started on the Good Doctor, a not so friendly reminder that summer is over and the liquid sunshine may return soon. Now, the first episode of the Good Doctor has aired, with favourable ratings. (number one in it's time slot on Monday night.) It was fun to watch, I think it is going to be a hit.
Omg! I thought when I moved from the Okanagan, I would finally be free of these "Stink bugs". I am convinced they followed me to my condo in Burnaby.

This morning I asked the caterers to  surprise me, and this quesadilla with avocado breakfast was so good.

This daily not routine included a trip to Panavision in Burnaby for a pick-up for the camera peeps.

This view of our circus (base camp) is going to be a lot of my back drop for the next week. (Looking at our studio, offices and stages in Coquitlam.)

back downtown for a cast pick-up. Looking from Coal Harbour to the west end of Vancouver.

another angle looking east

We are back taking back Vancouver Community College. (in the forefront is a camera car that is used when there is vehicles moving in a scene. The camera car will chase along with the vehicles.)

and then it was off to the woods of Port Coquitlam.....let's settle in for another fraturday, shall we?

ahhh the film industry, we managed to take over a street for the entire evening. This was better than last week, I was home by 7 a.m! woohoo!

It never ends
that's good energy right there

cool, but we still hate getting stuck behind them

thank-you, I have lost sleep over this...

tax dollars at work........and play

He moonlight's as a performer at the Bolshoi

be smart to be holding your insurance, will make it easier for the adjusters when you file your accident claim

lazy!

love this

now that's a throne

get a life already!

another Fraturday and then some.....

Fair enough, we were told ahead of time that Friday was going to be another Fraturday, but to see it on the call sheet was very sobering indeed.
How fitting, I cannot show much of anything on the filming of "the Good Doctor", so you get to see about as much as I can see. (they were filming a scene in a transit bus at the parking lot of Vancouver Community College)

every day, it takes enormous amount of crew and gear to get the shot.

today, fellow Teamster Rocky was thrown into the spotlight, driving this Santa Clara transit bus up and down Main street in Vancouver for one of the scenes.

I blanked out my fellow Teamster peep's name on this Starbucks coffee order I went to pick-up. Really? 6 shots! 5 sugars??

and now it makes a little sense, there he is muscling the cable needed to power up the circus and sets during a filming day.

I'm apologize to all the non meat eaters, but jeez louise, our caterers know how to feed us!
another familiar back-drop for our base camp today, Roger's Arena

and then the Fraturday....
it was still daylight when we started at Vancouver Community College,

I can see in the side mirror, that this is going to be a long night.

as always, lunched rocked, although eating all this at 11 p.m. was a little much.

The caterers were handing out samples of crocodile tonight. It kinda tasted like pork, but had a wilder taste and texture to it.

One plus of a late night shoot is no traffic driving downtown.

Fellow Teamster Ward was on picture car duty tonight, keeping an eye on these two paramedic vehicles. I ended up driving one them at the end of the night back to our studio in Coquitlam. I think I was home by 9 a.m. Saturday. (Uh yes, I did not accomplish much the rest of that day.)
random web pics

I'm thinking this picture has been altered a little?

sigh......why?

hope his buddy doesn't lose interest or go to the fridge for a beer.

I like how his buddy is so nonchalant about the guy's repair techniques.

Finally a change....

Week 2 of episode 104 of " the Good Doctor". (There are 9 days of filming scheduled for each episode.)

There is the good doctor, Shaun Murphy (Freddy Highmore) talking to fellow surgeon Dr. Claire Browne. (Antonia Thomas)
Not often enough, a chance to get out for dinner with my brother, the nieces and my own two.

I always seem to choose the Jambalya rice bowl, so many flavours!

and then the forest fire smoke came back, on top of the heat. Looking out from our studio in Coquitlam, there is a mountain range somewhere behind those trees in the distance.

and likewise when I was downtown early in the week. The North Shore mountains and the cities of West and North Vancouver are nowhere to be seen.

It was a smokey view across Burrard Inlet earlier in the week......

.....then the change. It finally cooled off later in the week and cloud cover replaced the smoke.
We even got some much needed rain.
I love the contrast of the marina and the city.

Moving one of the cast vehicles, I became enthralled with the hologram speed indicator on his California car. In my case, another form of distracted driving.

I got sent on a special mission. I had to pick-up some things at the Bass Pro Shops at Tsawwassen Mills Outlet mall close to the ferry terminal in Tsawwassen.

What can I say, this play was over the top, thought  I was in Vegas.

Seriously? The picture doesn't tell the story on how huge this tank was.

and this was when I seriously questioned what this store was all about...

your opinion?

Friday night and not much happening at the San Jose Saint Bonaventure hospital. (I cannot show, but this is a very impressive set. (the tubing is air conditioning that can be sent to the various sets)

It's almost a fraturday, I'm thinking I can sneak home soon, but my bosses had other ideas. This was the rig I was thrown into. (the trailer is for the electrics (lx) department) We had to move downtown for Monday. Oh well, sleep is over-rated.
on the web, lol, back to school

the poor children, haha they will get us back when we are in the old folk's home.

yup

yup squared
