Big boy trucker...

Well, the wardrobe trailer for season 6 of the Good Doctor certainly dwarfs my cast ride. Got the call back to work about 2 weeks earlier than I expected. It's been a long time since I've driven the big rigs, I guess it's like riding a bike??

Before that, had a great week-end with sis, who came down from Summerland. The tide at Crescent Beach was way out there......
....first, we visited our grand-parents gravesite, then it was on to Everall St. in White Rock, so named after our grand-parents.
.....on to Crescent Beach, what a lovely place to be on Canada Day!
.....random, snails, or hermit crabs (not sure) cruising around on the sands, pic.....
O Canada day!

Saturday night we were at the Vancouver Canadians baseball game.
Yay, the home team wins!
A great way to celebrate, the firework show after the game was outstanding. (can't tell by this pic, lol)
Sis, bro Skip and us had a nice mini reunion.
Where is summer? Pouring rain again......
Okay back to work. Picked up the cable truck for the show.....
Back in the tractor to pick-up the ole honeywagon....
All that big boy trucker stuff makes one awfully thirsty. Met up with junior after work at Steamworks brewery in Burnaby to quench that thirst.
Okay, improvise, I really need these wet shorts in a couple of hours, better find a place to hang them up.
Andrew, our transport co-ordinator was kind enough to give us a couple of tickets to.....
....the Vancouver Whitecaps soccer game. The seats were right down on field level.....
A beautiful evening inside and out at B.C. Place stadium.....
That's a poor picture of the Vancouver goalie looking really frustrated as the team fell apart in the last 10 minutes and lost 3-1.
Ritsue and I are a little obsessed, lol. Finally, after 150 days of playing I got one on the first try! Yay!
I have always loved Blondie. The first newspaper I picked up in many, many moons had this gem in it.

Rain to reign.....

Ahhh, the ole Coquihalla connector, takes you straight (almost) to........

Sis and Unk's chickens!
We didn't have many windows to get out and explore, the rain seemed to have followed us from Burnaby. We did manage to climb up Giant's Head mountain in Summerland to get a better view of Prairie Valley.
Making the most of it, what a view!
Auntie's house is down there somewhere.......
.....one last admire.
Plenty of budding Bitteroots.
A few Old Man's Whiskers, too!
Saturday was our annual visit to the Penticton Farmer's Market........
....and to visit the family burial plot at the Penticton Cemetery. (quite a view looking north)
We did a bit of wine tasting as well. This posing by the cherry tree was at the Silk Scarf Winery in Summerland.
The grapes are budding......
They have grafted a cherry tree branch to this plum tree, very interesting.
Green Acres is the place to be! Actually it at one of our favourites, Summerland Sweets.
......and bonus! The Kettle Valley Steam Railway train just happened to come by for a visit.
......a 90 minute ride for only $29? I see a rail trip in my future.
Sis Judith and her husband Les, Taylor, Ritsue, sis Tam and I are all smiles. You know what they say, the family that wine tastes together....(this was at Black Sage Vineyards in Summerland)
One of my favourite views of Okanagan Lake, close to Sage Hills Organic vineyards, which, of course, we also went for a tasting.
Ritsue had one last chore to do before we started heading home. The hens were very appreciative of the worm snacks.
......one last look at Okanagan Lake.......
....north......
.....and south. See you next year.
The random, quick trip to the Summerland Ornamental Gardens, flower pic. (Aquilegia?)
The back home, ramen tastes so much better with a super tasty egg from Sis's chickens, pic.
Scooter, you're such a poser!
Putting the cart on the escalator for the first time, woohoo!
Enjoying the start of summer from the balcony. Not sure how much more time I will have to enjoy before the Good Doctor comes a calling.
