The Good Doctor, episodes 410 and 411

Now how did Ritsue get in there?

One of my favourites when I'm heading downtown to pick-up cast, a cruise through Chinatown.

Waiting to pick-up cast at the Sutton Place hotel, I wonder which show this cast driver works for?
On this day I brought in one of the guest stars for episode 410, Caley Versfelt, for a covid test. While there she had a chance to meet and talk to one of the stars of the show, Paige Spara, who plays Lea.
Learning a lot these days about bathroom renos.
I wasn't going to do it!.....but when our first aid/craft service (snacks, lol) lady, Kelly, offered up a decadent grilled ham & cheese sandwich, well, how could I refuse?
New age photographic art, lol. I call this one "my tileless bathroom floor"
I had to go out to YVR to pick-up one of the new guest stars. Not many arriving flights on the board these days.
The wall outside of Kafka's coffee, located inside the Centre for Digital Media building. If your there, try their cappuccino.
Hanging out back at Kitsilano, waiting for Dr. Reznick, again.
Random, you know, I really like these shoes, pic. (and I'm having trouble finding another pair, I don't think Merrell makes this style anymore.)
After picking up the dry cleaning for the Good Doctor over in North Vancouver, I hit a traffic snarl on the Iron Worker's Memorial bridge. One stalled dump truck brought everything to a halt. I'm glad I don't live on the North Shore.
The newest dilemma for me. I ordered 2 shirts from Hilo Hattie's in Hawaii. I owe one to my son as a belated Christmas present. I know which one I want, sure hope he picks the other one. (Last night he did, yay!)
A rare filming day downtown Vancouver. A sunny start at crew park, which was across from B.C. place stadium.
Without giving the story away, I can tell you that Jesse here sure looks the part of a surly tow-truck driver.
Hey wait a minute, am I seeing double? Two striped tomatoes??
Hahaha, once again our film crew has taken over another neigbourhood. (If you look close enough you can see Dr. Murphy and his girlfriend, Lea.)
Random, sky separating nature and man, pic.
There's our stars, Freddie and Paige, enjoying the sun as the crew sets up for the next scene.
I like this pic. The white line on the road, the end......
On this Friday night I had this lovely view as I awaited to pick-up the executive producer in Yaletown.
Later into Friday night, hanging out on the wrong side of the tracks.......
Last Saturday morning, another wonderful sunrise over Mt. Baker.
We went to visit our friend Tracey at Shelter Island Marina in Richmond. This is his uncle's boat. (hence where the first picture on this blog came from)
Ritsue is posing again!
Ritsue and Tracey, the social distance pose.
A sad story. His uncle fished with the boat for years, and spent the last 20 years living aboard. On Christmas day it sank and he lost all his belongings. Now it is only valuable as salvage.
Ritsue is proving what a large vessel it is.
Selfie time.......again.....
Afterwards, we took a walk along the Fraser River.
The renos are going slow, but at least the bathtub is in, that's a good start.
Caley's last day on set. I was flattered that she wanted a picture with me. She is such an inspirational young woman, I'm honored to know her.
No complaining about the weather here after I saw this post from my niece and her hubby in Vermilion, Alberta. -27, brrrrrrrrrrr.

That's a wrap (for now)

That's a wrap! Not on the Good Doctor, but on Ritsue's PR application. After many months, and many hoops to jump through, we finally sent it off to Immigration Canada in Mississauga. Now another long wait begins......

............in the meantime, time for a little eggplant and lotus root!
Oh boy!, tempura time!
Complete with buckwheat noodles, yum-yum!
Fixing a broken plastic hook, another Superglue fail!
There's the cabbage........
......and there's the bacon.........that must mean..........
Okonomiyaki time! Sooooooooooooo goooooooooood!
While the Good Doctor season 4 was still on Christmas hiatus, I went and spent a week helping out on Upload, season 2, which is just starting prep. (had so much fun working on season 1, the cast were hilarious!) Still intact was this lodge set at the studio in Coquitlam.
Ran into an old acquaintance while I was there, lol.
Ahhhh, the faux lake, nice!
It was a different couple of days for myself. Started with this office driving ride...........
........moved to this 8 passenger transit van. I spent a couple of days bringing crew to and from crew park and the stages.
I even got to play Teamster truck driver! First I hauled the craft service (snack truck) trailer from the Mighty Ducks studio in Burnaby to Upload in Coquitlam.
Then it was the all important washroom trailer, good thing it's behind me!
Our at home reality. Seems like my plumbing in the ensuite bathroom was leaking down into the unit below me. The plumber came to investigate, and, well, now I have no walls around our shower. (I decided if they were fixing the pipes they might as well replace the 35 year old tub as well. May as well do the tile while they're at it, not looking forward to the bill!
......and there it is, my new shower regulator, whoo..............hoooo........
The ominous fog rolled in outside on this early, early morning........
.....but when the daylight came, another stunning view of Mt. Baker..........
.....followed by a gorgeous sunrise...... what a start to the day!
Back at my post, hanging out on the studio's "Main Street".
..........made for happy feet after I got the pair I had on wet in the heavy rain......
The late night talk shows were having a heyday as Trump's presidency finally came to an end.
Looking for tile for my bathroom at a store in Vancouver. I had no idea this train yard was so close to my normal route to and from downtown.
The showroom was looking across towards Olympic village....
.....and yet another spectacular sunrise above Mt. Baker looking out from our condo.
My first time in 2021 hanging out by Kits beach as I waited to pick-up Dr. Reznick.
Later on that day, I babysat Dr. Reznick's lunch as I waited at the studio to take her back home.
I wonder what they are going to do with this moon buggy now that Lost in Space has wrapped their season.
The advantage to working late, I get the high-way to myself, lol.
Another famous (in my mind) bored, contrast between the stage and the sky, pic.
The last couple of weeks we have enjoyed a lot of sunshine in the Lower Mainland, and I took full advantage as I stood by at the studio.
On this night it was stand-by by the dumpsters in Yaletown, as I waited to pick-up the executive producer and his wife, who were out for dinner.
The Midnight Mass stage is now empty, wonder what's coming next. Over 40 shows in prep, shoot and wrap in the Vancouver area.
Next door is stage 12, which has a bunch of the Good Doctor sets inside.
Another late night. Clear sailing again as I head through the Cassiar tunnel.
The ultimate in covid fashion!
Ritsue posing once again, this time outside of Vassilis Souvlaki Greek Taverna on Kingsway near my place.
I have wanted to check this place out since I moved to the area 5 years ago.
The atmosphere was very warm and comfortable........
........and the food was amazing! We will definitely be back!
