The Good Doctor, episodes 311 & 312

Waiting for a cast member in the Mount Pleasant area of Vancouver on an early, rainy, Monday morning.
We have already passed the 1/2 way point of filming season 3 of the Good doctor. This week we finished episode 311 and started on 312.

Tuesday, same pic, less rain.
Yay! Ritsue's arrival has meant some yummy treats, like this udon dish.

I try to keep informed with what is going on with our transport union, the mighty Teamsters 155. This past Sunday I attended the monthly meeting at the union hall.

Ha, close to Metrotown mall, the old style phones are becoming scarcer and scarcer.

……..I had to go out to Port Coquitlam to get my tires replaced on my cast ride. When I went for a coffee, I saw this machine that sells Bitcoins. I saw this behemoth back in season 1, I didn't know it was still a thing...….
…….an extended coffee and cookie break as I waited for the tire swap.

Back at our base camp at the Bridge Studios. I was incredulous to what I saw. Someone dropped a garbage bin right by the cast trailers...…...

…..well, if this propane truck cannot get by, I am not even going to try. I'll just go the other way behind stage 4......

…..and someone else decided to park and block all traffic. Good thing there wasn't a fire close by. Kind of frustrating.

Back at the tire shop, fellow cast driver peep Jim got these beauty brand new mud and snow tires...….

…...while I received these disappointing, used treads, meh! (Not much I could do, this was pre-arranged by the owner of the vehicle.)
Back in Mount Pleasant, one of the many building murals in the area.

We had mostly early starts this week, a welcome change from the norm. This morning I was in Kitsilano waiting for cast, a cool view of Vancouver.

Trying to keep track of which cast we need to take home, part of my every day duties.

Mid-week, waiting at the Sutton hotel...…….

…….with over 40 productions filming in town right now, I was shocked to see I was the only one waiting for cast, when normally you can't even get a parking spot with all the cast vehicles that are usually there.

Thursday morning, my pic was in Yaletown.

…..back at the studio offices, starting to get into the Halloween mood.

A cold stark view of Burrard Inlet from Kitsilano on this morning.

Friday morning I was back in Yaletown, it was a cool rainy gray view of False Creek.

Random, sunroof look-up to the skies, rainy pic.

Friday afternoon, there was a climate march downtown, led by Greta Thunberg. We were worried about the road closures due to the crowds, so we decided to stage in various points close to the downtown core and wait it out. (We had many pick-ups in the area around the same time as the march.)  I waited underneath the convention centre.
We filmed both episodes at the Bridge on Friday. The problem was one started at 10 a.m. and the other didn't start until 2:30 p.m. That can only mean another...…….

…….Fraturday!!!
Pics from season 3. Dr. Murphy and Dr. Lever. (Freddie Highmore and Jasika Nicole)

Dr. Andrews (Hill Harper), Dr. Park (Will Yun Lee), and Dr. Murphy.

Dr. Browne (Antonia Thomas), Dr. Park and Dr. Reznick (Fiona Gubelmann) have their hands and fins full in episode 3 of season 3.

…… and back at home with his roommate Lea (Paige Spara), (no spoilers) Dr. Murphy has some tough decisions ahead.

The Good Doctor, episode 311

Surprise, I will start my week on episode 311 (omg, we are half way through the season already!) of the Good Doctor at, where else, the Sutton Place Hotel. (Home to many, many of the guest stars of over 40 shows filming in Vancouver right now.) This morning I was picking up Dr. Glassman. (Richard Schiff.)
It's official! Ritsue has made the move from Hiroshima to Burnaby. Let the fun begin!

Today we were filming out in Surrey. I found it interesting the last little bit of marsh around the area was fenced off???

The next day we were in Langley, and I also thought it was interesting that this little pond was off limits, except to a few privileged???
Omg! 9-11 on the shoes! (Dr. Glassman left these in my vehicle, and they were needed on set.)

We were at three different locations in Langley today, including this café on the Fraser Highway. (Not in the United States.)

I chose to wait it out at this coffee shop in Mount Pleasant while I waited to pick-up a cast member. We had a lot of rain this week, and more for next week.

While we were filming in the Mount Pleasant area, a fellow cast driver on the show introduced me to a Japanese grocery store. It is right on Broadway, and I have driven by it dozens of times, but never even noticed it was there.

One of my duties on one of the busiest weeks ever on the Good Doctor was returning wardrobe to VPC (Vancouver Prop and Costume). This warehouse is massive!
Hmnnnn, a surprise for me when I came home from work on this day. (I must say, "No more cold seats!")

This was a first for myself and many of the film crew on this Thursday. We started the day at this gas station in south Langley.
Then we moved back to the same motel in Surrey that we were filming at on the previous Thursday.
(We finished the day at the studio in Burnaby. Three cities in one day, oh the logistics of it all!

When you are moving around as much as we were the last 2 weeks you sometimes forget important details, such as my cast ride is in desperate need of an oil change.

Looking up, waiting to pick-up Dr. Lever. (Jasika Nicole). Rain, rain, and more rain.

At least the fall leaves add some much needed colour to these grey days.

Friday night we were back at Vancouver Community College. A huge coincidence as this transit bus pulled up across the street. Zoom in on the side, there is a Good Doctor poster on the bus. I bet the passengers did not know the Good Doctor himself was so very near.
As we headed towards another fraturday, fellow cast driver Marianna tried to keep the mood up by bringing a steel drum for the crew to have fun with.

We ended the week outside of VCC, but it was a tolerable, 1 a.m. finish to the week.

Hopefully, the first of many outings with Ritsue in Vancouver. (Myself, Ritsue, junior, bro Skip and his lady Doris)
