The "prawnlette" edition........

When catering gives you extra prawns for our so spoiled (us, not the food) lunch, you have to plan........on making a tasty Saturday morning breakfast!
Ritsue and I nailed it! Sooooooo good!

Had a chance to go Stem Eatery by our place for some traditional Japanese cuisine. Very good, but I'm sorry to say very expensive. This Omakase Nigiri was $57 CDN.
The weather, the weather. Today, couldn't even see across the street to the McDonalds, lol.

Early, early (again) view of Burrard Inlet as I await the lovely Dr. Reznick.......
......and an even earlier start the day prior........

.....yes, there is some downtime as we await to take the Good Doctor cast to and fro. I thought the best use of time at this point was to see if I could put my cast ride in line with the cast vehicle behind me, lol.
Nailed it! We had a crazy schedule this week because of covid. We ended up filming scenes from three different episodes, 511, 512, and 513. (Ha!, we had three different directors on Friday.) Still no word when the 8th episode of season 5 will air.
.....a lovely sunny January day as I awaited the equally lovely Dr. Lim.

Wow, as the temperatures hovered around freezing, it was an untimely time to film a baseball game in Burnaby......
I can guarantee the cast were more than a little chill. I drove Dr. Lim and Dr. Allen back to the studio, they had the cast ride temperature up to 85 degrees Fahrenheit! As I was dressed for the weather, it became like a sauna!!
That view from the balcony, never get tired of it.
Yes! We are spoiled, this isn't even the catering menu, just the midday snack truck menu!
I was told I was giving out information I shouldn't, so I cropped the call sheet. Green and Red are the covid testing zone. Green means on set and contact with the cast, red is the workers, like construction, who do not need as much testing as we get, which is still every day.

.......and a foggy start to 2022 as well.......

Well, that was my view this morning from my condo, and my view of 2022 so far. We have managed to finish filming episode 11 of season 5 of the Good Doctor, one which we started well before Christmas. It is still unclear when episode 8 will air. Episode 7 aired in November, geez Louise! We are back filming episode 12 tomorrow. It is also unclear whether or not we will soldier on, as the covid cases of the crew continues to grow. We are now testing every day when we are working, yikes!

Waiting by the cast trailers for my next cast deployment. A nice view up on the left of the stages at the Bridge Studios that house Saint Bonaventure Hospital.
Coincidence? I picked up Dr. Jordan Allen (Bria Henderson) on 3, early, very early mornings in a row. The view looking behind my cast ride to the right.........
.......the view looking straight ahead to the north........
.....and on the third morning, the looking south along the bike lane, pic. (A coincidence? No, lol, because I schedule which cast drivers pick up which cast every day.)
Yikes! Our gas prices in Vancouver jumped to $1.69 Canadian per litre. Crazy! (I think that computes to about $5.04 U.S. per gallon)
Very early morning selfie with Louie, the #1 catering chef on the Good Doctor team. It was a greeting to one of our cast, (can't say who) that is staying home as a covid precaution.
Waiting for wrap, wandering around our stage 12, pic.......
......and sauntering over to stage 11, which is a new set for the upcoming series "The Fall of the House of Usher". That's all I know, lol.
....it looks like the U.F.O's are descending down on 2022 to observe the fogginess of 2022......
.....can Wordle save us????? (well at least for a few minutes a day). Stay safe everyone! Heading to bed, a very early pick-up of Dr. Reznick tomorrow!

A omicron start to 2022........

Scooter is such a poser!

We had some crazy weather again. Another dump of snow on this night.
Ritsue received another order for her world famous hand made slippers. One of my Teamster peeps wanted a pair for his son, who is a size 13! The slipper definitely does not fit, Cinderella!

It was a winter wonderland as I awaited to pick-up the Good Doctor episode 511 director. We were shutdown again during the first week of filming due to covid concerns. Will we ever finish the episode, which began filming on December 13th. (We did get going again, and had 3 full days of filming last week.)
Crazy! One day later, on the same street, waiting for the same director, lol.
I like this pic. Waiting for Dr. Reznick on this day, it was cool and foggy on Burrard Inlet.
The week prior, covid shut us down again. It was a lonely couple of days for myself, hanging out at basecamp, basically waiting to see if any cast members needed a ride in for testing or ?????
Well, this is worth celebrating. A Sunday with a glass of wine listening to one of my favourite records of all time, Doobie Brothers Stampede.
Waiting for Dr. Jordan Allen. She's up there somewhere......
......deja vu, waiting again the next early morning......
Honestly, it is just nice to see those red lights on at stage 1 and stage 2 at the Bridge Studios. That means we are finally filming again.
Saturday night, the fog rolled in on Kingsway close to the ole homestead.....
..... looking east.....
......and from our condo........

Well, unbeknownst to me, I havae a new name, kinda cool, don't you think?
Not much Good Doctor news to report this week. We are trying to get back to a full filming schedule starting tomorrow. Meanwhile, I'm 10 for 10 since I started playing Wordle, I'm a legend in my own mind!

Mommy, it's over.........

Can't believe the Christmas hiatus is over, not quite ready to get back to work. I wonder if Nutopia is covid free?

Went to see the Yoko Ono exhibit at the Vancouver Art Gallery.......
I was more interested in the photos they included in the collection. Still worth the trip, though, wow, the history.....

Ritsue's mother sent her a care package from Japan, including this instant Miso soup.
It was a nice break, but Christmas was very quiet.....
My daughter's work had a covid exposure, so no Christmas dinner at my place. So we packed it all up and dropped it off at her place. We had a toast with the champagne the Good Doctor gave me for a gift, with Ritsue and I outside and daughter, boyfriend and junior inside.
.....almost forgot the Christmas crackers!!
....way to go junior, merry Christmas, lol.
.....Christmas morning was princess's princess time......
....blast from the past! Daughter thought it was fun to get me an Archie comic book for Christmas. I love it! Straight into the bathroom, lol.
Crazy weather over the holidays. The snowdrifts on our balcony have finally dissipated.
A chilly minus 12 Celsius (10.4 fahrenheit) on the night we went to see the lights at the Burnaby Village Museum.
A frigid but enjoyable evening.
Staycation, tourists in our own town. We spent 2 nights at the Sutton Place hotel downtown Vancouver. It was cool, dark and wet the first day......
....followed by sunny and cold on the day we went to......
....the Vancouver Art Galley. Wow, a picture of John and Yoko with Prime Minister Trudeau from 1969.
There were other exhibits at the gallery, some more curious than others.
.....all that culture makes one a little thirsty. We went to the lounge at the Sutton, which pre-covid was often full of all the guest stars of the many film productions in town.
A fresh dump of snow the next morning made for a perfect drive around.......
....Stanley Park! Part of the lagoon was still frozen over.
Looking across to the North Shore mountains, spectacular!
Princess meadow, lol....
Don't judge me! We needed some food after the nature high. I was going for a healthier option, but how many times in your life can you get a bowl of mini corn dogs??? Thank-you Cannibal Cafe!
The cold weather brought some spectacular views of Mt. Baker.
The snow angel is back!
Thank-you Varied Thrush for being a poser!
Random, I call this, "thinking on the throne", pic.
Okay, still on holidays, don't judge, back on track in 2022! (right after this New Year's day breakfast, lol)

epilogue, hopefully back to filming episode 511 of the Good Doctor this week. We took last week off as an extra covid safety precaution.
