All in the family........

Had a chance visit the Queen Elizabeth Theatre recently......

We really enjoyed Hadestown. The story was a little glum, but the music was very catchy, and the performances by the cast and the musicians was impressive.
A great, albeit a little late for this old dude, great evening. Kanpai!
All in the family, right? I started work this week on another Brightlight pictures show, Alert: Missing Persons Unit season 2. (First season was apparently filmed in Montreal.) Not my usual gig, started the day with this cube van as my ride.
Next, grab that washroom trailer and take it back to Tahoe. (The company, not the city, lol.)
Spent a lot of time running errands with this daily driver. Also took the execs out scouting locations for the first episode.
Meanwhile back at circus, captain Jacen is arranging the cast trailers. The show goes to camera on Dec. 12th.
Oh ya, one day my ride was this 5 ton Hino.
Forget my world famous (my world) banana pancakes! On this day it was persimmon pancakes, yum yum!
I guess my dispatch from the mighty Teamsters 155 office kind of makes it official.
The days scouting locations brought us to the City Centre Motel in Mt. Pleasant. What used to be a very seedy and dubious location has recently been turned into artists' studios.
We were scouting downtown, very close to Stanley Park.
We went to a container yard in Surrey, wowsa....
......an active container yard!
Then it was off to the old Dairyland buildings in Burnaby. Wow, a lot of milk would of fit in there in the day.
I call this "the disappearing Burnaby industry landscape looking out towards the never ending Brentwood condos", pic, phew!
The next day we went up to the warehouses just below my condo building. Once again, more condos are peeking out. (Apparently there will eventually be 25 towers on this property.)
In the meantime, not sure if I would want to live so close to all the warehouse action.
It has been 6 months since I've done a cast pick-up at YVR.
On this day I picked up Alert's "Nikki Batista" and her family. One more suitcase and I don't think I could of fit them and it all in.
Actually kind of a nice change from my Good Doctor duties. Today I was in charge of stocking the cast trailers, including the towels and the bath mats. One down, 17 more to go. (Oh ya, I was entrusted to change the smoke detector batteries in all the rooms as well, what an honor!)
Must be 6 face cloths in each basket, phew, the pressure.
The finishing touch, the faux orchid.
Other responsibilities: which 2 inch ball hitch to pick.........
Out for a stroll in my hood yesterday. This alley was actually a set at the old Buller stages in Burnaby. I remember working for the show "Arrow" here many moons ago.
The window tag on my cast ride makes it even more official.......or does it?

A new day has dawned.......

Timely use of my early morning balcony pic to segue into this blogs' title. (Of course referring to the end of the SAG/AFTRA actor's strike on November 9th.)

The sun sets on one of my last idle days?

.....and rises to the possibility that myself and so many other may be back to work soon.
Ritsue practicing for the big day.
I had no idea my brother played football, hmnnnn.
Her first time carving, she's a natural, really hands on, hyuk.
They are both laughing at the silliness.
Who, who made Jack so good, and scary. What a hoot!
We got about 5 nights enjoyment out of this guy.
Nice try for Monty Pumpkinhead.
When in Rome (or my hood), follow the yellow leaf road......
This is serious business, the Lions have to win this playoff game if they are going to make it to the 110th Grey Cup game in Hamilton.
You gotta support the team!
Roar you Lions Roar......
How do you get to be one of the people bringing out the Canadian flag?
....pretty good seats, and yes, the Lions did roar indeed.
Unfortunately they lost this week to the Blue Bombers.
The random, something is loose in the shower door, could it be these hex bolts (it wasn't), pic.
Would you buy a used car from this man? Hmnnnn, how about hiring him for a small acting gig? It's been awhile. Meanwhile, still waiting for the green light for the Good Doctor Season 7. Should be soon!

Just enjoy it......

Yes, just enjoy it. I'm referring to my time off waiting for the actors and the production companies to settle their squabbles. Enjoy the harvest moon......

....out for a walk in my hood, enjoying the fungus among us........
......or the new (super spicy) mighty Caesar chicken pizza at Me 'N' Eds.........
.....walking along the Sky Train route in Burnaby.....
.....enjoying the fall colors......
.....above me, a wasp's nest.......
......plenty of radish to enjoy at home, holy moly!
.....enjoying the sun setting and the moon rising.....
.....more walks along Byrne Creek......
......another glorious sunrise over Mt. Baker. I can't believe how many new condos keep appearing. (I'm sure one day I won't even be able to see the peak, but I will enjoy it all for now....
Small victories, I finally got re-certified to drive a forklift, something I haven't done in over 10 years. Who knows, may come in handy. It was fun to go through the pylons, and I nailed it, just sayin.
Will this catch people on this blog, it got me when I first saw it online. Well, looks like the actor's strike is over, now what?????
