Now what.........

Said good-bye to San Lupo Drive after nearly 30 filming days over 2 1/2 months on Earth Abides. I'm sure the people in this Port Moody neighbourhood were sad, and happy to see us go.

 

......don't think I've seen one of these before, definitely not in the Lower Mainland. Could it be a Tarantula Hawk wasp?

..... how many hours I spent on the south end of Yale Road over-looking Port Moody, a block from San Lupo (McGill) Drive.

Not sure who this visitor to my windshield was, but he stayed around long enough to pose for a picture.

Oh my, things down on Alberni street in Vancouver were looking a little apocalyptic on this Saturday. (The city is so film friendly, they let us film on 2 blocks between Thurlow and Jervis.)

That can't be good......

I am looking forward to when it airs this fall sometime......

A little pre shooting meeting between our star, Alexander Ludwig, the showrunner Todd Komarnicki, and the director (who I had the privilege of driving), Stephen Campanelli. Stephen has worked with Clint Eastwood on many of Clint's projects over the years.

It was cool to see so many people come out to watch. (Reminds me of filming Once Upon a Time in Steveston.) Apparently Alex is fairly well known for other projects. He was kind enough to take pictures and sign autographs to many of the fans that came to watch.

Very cool, (well the scene is not so cool) this condo building gave the go ahead to make the front entrance a derelict hospital emergency entrance. (Oh, so not like the Good Doctor.)

We spent one grand day filming at Whyte Cliff Park in West Vancouver.

When the tide was out I had a chance to stroll out to Whyte Islet.

It's very close to Horseshoe Bay, but Bowen Island isn't far off either.

When the tide came back in, Whyte Islet looked a little more challenging to get to.

One of my last siestas on Yale Road, now what????

On McGill, (San Lupo) waiting for wrap. We all knew something was amiss when the background all started getting placed where are cast and Teamster trucks were parked. Vamos was in quick order.

......back at the studio for the last 3 days, that is a good sign?

.....by the end of the day, uhhh, not so much......

.....we had to pick up some driving scenes to complete, so we ended up in North Vancouver, I never new these roads existed.

The greenery was reflective............

....yup, Earth Abides......

Well, what do we have here. Looks like a celebration at the Michael J. Fox theatre in Burnaby to me.

Well caps off to Ritsue! It was her graduation ceremony for becoming a teacher's assistant. She's already been working in the Burnaby school district since the start of the year. Congrats!

Hmnnnn, not much left on the Earth Abides sets in Burnaby....

Without getting into too much detail, lol, I was sent out to pick up a not to be named director's vehicle that may or may not have been forgotten about at the Sutton Place Hotel. Jeez, maybe the hotel could of given us a heads up, instead of handing out 7 $98 dollar parking tickets??? (In the end a resolution was made, not the outcome the transport department had hoped for.)

.....and there it is! San Jose Saint Bonaventure Hospital. Surreal to say the least. Now what???

Yay! First Vancouver Canadians baseball game of the year for us, and Canada Day to boot!!!

I mean, you gotta go to a couple of games a year, (I'll tell you what ,it's a sit in the park!)

......same shirt, different day. A couple of weeks after the Good Doctor ended I was blessed with the job of taking Freddie Highmore to the airport. We stopped at Chuku Modu's place for a good-bye, and Freddie decided we needed a good-bye pic, and I didn't object. He has gone back to London. I hear he might be doing a mini-series over there. Looking forward to it.
