A new day has dawned.......

Timely use of my early morning balcony pic to segue into this blogs' title. (Of course referring to the end of the SAG/AFTRA actor's strike on November 9th.)

The sun sets on one of my last idle days?

.....and rises to the possibility that myself and so many other may be back to work soon.
Ritsue practicing for the big day.
I had no idea my brother played football, hmnnnn.
Her first time carving, she's a natural, really hands on, hyuk.
They are both laughing at the silliness.
Who, who made Jack so good, and scary. What a hoot!
We got about 5 nights enjoyment out of this guy.
Nice try for Monty Pumpkinhead.
When in Rome (or my hood), follow the yellow leaf road......
This is serious business, the Lions have to win this playoff game if they are going to make it to the 110th Grey Cup game in Hamilton.
You gotta support the team!
Roar you Lions Roar......
How do you get to be one of the people bringing out the Canadian flag?
....pretty good seats, and yes, the Lions did roar indeed.
Unfortunately they lost this week to the Blue Bombers.
The random, something is loose in the shower door, could it be these hex bolts (it wasn't), pic.
Would you buy a used car from this man? Hmnnnn, how about hiring him for a small acting gig? It's been awhile. Meanwhile, still waiting for the green light for the Good Doctor Season 7. Should be soon!

Just enjoy it......

Yes, just enjoy it. I'm referring to my time off waiting for the actors and the production companies to settle their squabbles. Enjoy the harvest moon......

....out for a walk in my hood, enjoying the fungus among us........
......or the new (super spicy) mighty Caesar chicken pizza at Me 'N' Eds.........
.....walking along the Sky Train route in Burnaby.....
.....enjoying the fall colors......
.....above me, a wasp's nest.......
......plenty of radish to enjoy at home, holy moly!
.....enjoying the sun setting and the moon rising.....
.....more walks along Byrne Creek......
......another glorious sunrise over Mt. Baker. I can't believe how many new condos keep appearing. (I'm sure one day I won't even be able to see the peak, but I will enjoy it all for now....
Small victories, I finally got re-certified to drive a forklift, something I haven't done in over 10 years. Who knows, may come in handy. It was fun to go through the pylons, and I nailed it, just sayin.
Will this catch people on this blog, it got me when I first saw it online. Well, looks like the actor's strike is over, now what?????

Holding pattern routine....

Here I am, on what has become my early morning walk routine. The sun is sure coming up later these days. Just look at that tall drink of water!

Digging the fall colors.......
......mixed in with the "not so digging" foggy mornings.
Fellow Teamster peep John, donning the Tigers ball cap, bragging on how nice it is in his hood, Ladner.
I reciprocated with my A's cap, not bragging about my neighbourhood.
Out and about......
.....on this day it was Byrne Creek Park.
I love this pic. It's a very short walk from the Edmonds Sky Train station.
Have gone and watched junior a couple of times tearing up the ice with his rec hockey team.
Ritsue's balcony gardening skills are really paying off this year!
On the way home from the Vancouver International Film Festival, where junior and I watched a documentary about the Stanley Cup riots of 2011, a dark day in Vancouver history.
It's going to take a lot of mushrooms.......
.......to feed this crew on Thanksgiving. Great that bro Skip was able to attend.
Ahhhhh, leftovers. I must say, this toasted ham sandwich, well, I nailed it, just sayin.
Looking north from the balcony, that's a lot of cloud action.
Looking east on the morning of the solar eclipse, that's too much cloud action! (Speaking of action, here we sit. The writer's have settled, but the actor's are still on strike. They get back talking with the producers on Tuesday. C'mon, let's make a deal!
So I have a morbid sense of humor. I love this far side!

Shhhhhhhh! They're talking..........

My new favorite, random, water drops on the bathroom mirror, hey!, I can see myself, pic. (The shhh, they're talking refers to the ongoing SAG/AFTRA actor's strike. They are in talks with the productions as I write this. The writer's came to an agreement last week, hopefully meaning we will all be back to work soon.)

Had a chance to cruise down to Olympic Village a couple of Thursdays ago. The before pic.......
.....and the after pic of Science World. What a beautiful night to be out.
The producers at Brightlight Pictures thought getting the Good Doctor cast and crew together for an evening would boost morale. A lot of people have been out of work since April. A great pic with Christina, Brightlight Pictures Shawn and his wife Betty, Paige, Freddie and Chuku. It was nice to see everyone, a much needed group counselling session, lol.
Finally got around to going on one of our favourite local walks, Deer Lake in Burnaby. (The last time we went was in the spring of 2022.)
The old man in me loves the traffic on the boardwalk on this day!
A great spot nestled smack dab in the middle of the Burnaby metropolis.
Ahhhh, so peaceful, good for the soul.
The inner child in Ritsue came out when we found this playground on Saturday.
Lovely weather, lovely sunset view of Mt. Baker. ( I wonder how much longer I'll be able to see it. Those two condos on the left are new, and I'm hearing plenty more are coming, ugh.
Well, I get points for cooking the pancakes, but Ritsue gets the bonus points for presentation!
On the week-end one of the cable channels was showing the movie Watchmen. My goodness, who is that handsome doctor putting the straight jacket on Mothman?
Makes me smile.........
