Campbell, what's on the menu this week......

Another week on season 2 of "Campbell." (The show I cannot talk about )

Once again, a few minutes to enjoy the view of Burrard Inlet towards the North Shore Mountains, waiting to pick up the director.

We are so spoiled in the film industry. On this particular day, this was our lunch menu from our caterers, "Kitchen Wisdom."

We get breakfast and lunch on filming days, and the menu is always changing.

Fellow Teamster brother Ward contented after the feast.

We spent 4 days at Riverview Hospital in Coquitlam.

Less than 5 minutes from the freeway, a little peaceful greenspace at Riverview.

On one day last week, the temperature climbed to 25 degrees Celsius.......

but by 6 p.m., the clouds started rolling in....

and within 2 hours, we had torrential, albeit warm, rain, thunder and lightning, and a nice, but cool, sunset.

the tradition of Friday Hawaiian has returned to our production, more crew joining in every week. (and that is about all I can show from the show, it played in the first season) 

Once again, day turns to night in the film world. A little different spending the evening at an elementary school in Vancouver

Also this week, I had my voter card in hand as I headed out to the local community center to vote in the election.

A small feeling of violation today, as I went out to my car, only to find out someone had backed into it. Disappointing to not see a note on my windshield.

A bit of a change of scenery as I awaited one of the executive producers doing some banking by Renfrew and 1st.

Also had a little time to have a coffee with my brother, who works at Carnegie Centre in Vancouver. That's ground zero on the east side, where many of the homeless and drug addicted spend their days. The stained glass windows are part of the building.

Back at our studio in Burnaby, across the road from us at the Bridge Studios, another t.v. series, Lost in Space, is in full production.

I call it, "light reflecting the rain onto my dashboard" (one of my "slower" moments of the day as I was waiting for wrap.)

This was a couple of weeks ago when he was in Vancouver filming his new movie, "Hard Powder"

can you tell me how to get, how to get to everall street.

A couple of extra days off from the my job on the t.v. production "Campbell", gave me a chance to be a bit of a tour guide. A dear friend of mine from Japan came for a visit. Of course the first stop was Everall Street in White Rock. (It's really only important to me, and I suppose the people that live on the street. It is named after my grand-parents, who were earlier settlers here.

We also had a chance to pay respects to my grand parents while we were there.

We lucked out, a very sunny spring day as we strolled the beaches of White Rock.

I remember years ago, it was all fishing boats that were dock at the end of the White Rock Pier. Now it is all sailboats.

It was a great day

back at work, a little change of scenery, driving towards set on Esplanade in North Vancouver

Our circus was parked at the foot of Fell Ave. A very impressive view of Burrard Inlet and the City of Vancouver

As always, day stretches into night on our long filming days. In my rear view mirror I can see the infamous rain towers, making a whole of water for one of the scenes tonight.

I have personally experienced the misery of a rain tower, when I was a background performer on the movie "Watchmen."

We also spent four days at one of my favourite shooting locations, Riverview Hospital.

Of course it was for hospital scenes. This team we were at the east lawn building.

I tried taking a picture of the blossoms, but on my phone it didn't seem bright enough. It doesn't look much better taking the pic through my sunglasses, either.

Campbell, week 2

Ahhhh, who knows where the road will take us on week 2 of the film production "Campbell". (I promise to find out next week if I can reveal more about this show that is in it's second season.

A festive scene at the Sutton Place hotel. It was a 4:30 a.m. start to pick-up the director.

A tough shooting day for the crew on this day out in Surrey. The weather kept changing from cloud to rain, to sun, and then repeat the cycle. We even had thunder and lightning at one point.

round and round,  heading north back down Cambie St. towards downtown to pick-up cast.

Another day, another neighbourhood to take over. This time, it was a condo just off of Marine drive in Vancouver, close to the Fraser River.

Every once in awhile I have to show off how spoiled we are by our caterers. Pasta, with egg plant and swiss chard, mnnnnnn.

Looking back down the street, lots going on, including the catering trucks. I'm always impressed with the locations department, who secured the approval of the many neighbours. Filming tonight went until 11 p.m.

Later in the week when I was at the Sutton Hotel, I saw many, many firefighters. Turns out they were there for a funeral for a fellow firefighter, Robert Rosenlund. It was a moving sight.

A whole world within the confines or the productions base camp. (aka circus)

Our week continued at the Boundary Bay Airport, 30 minutes south of the Vancouver city limits.

Well, well, well. I'm pretty sure we are still in Canada.

When else do you get to hang out on the tarmac? Yes, only with special permission. (the film industry allows me many perks.)

another perk. after a show ends, there  can be a set sale. This can include wardrobe, hardware, some construction materials, and items used to decorate a set. This was a big sale at Vancouver Film studios for the shows Bates Motel, Impastor, and Girlfriend.'s  Guide to Divorce.

and you got a fine from the video store if you didn't rewind
