Island time, part 1-B

One last look at Qualicum Beach, then time to hit the road.....

We made a quick stop at Deep Bay.
Was very serene. There were many fishing boats at the marina.
Quite a few of these vessels, assuming for their catch?
Keep trying......
Poser calling another poser a poser. This was in Ladysmith, another quiet small town to consider.
......and pose on, and pose on.......
This was nice, but the cold beer at the Ladysmith Legion was the real selling factor.
We moved on to Victoria for the last night. Another groovy day at Dallas Road Beach.

The, ya, technically we are tourists, shot at the Parliament Buildings, pic.

.....and the Empress does impress......
......look up, look wayyyyyyyy up....
You can do it!
.....and so can I.
.....one last look, ya, I could live here.

Heading back to present day reality.
Only one week left of filming for the Good Doctor. (Yes, the final episode aired this week.)
So many spots you can spy Mt. Baker.

Island time, part 1-A

The Easter long week-end gave us a chance to visit Petroglyph Provincial Park in Nanaimo.

It was happenstance that we ended up there. We started out with our window seat (in the car) on the ferry.
It was pretty interesting.
We were on a bit of a mission to check potential retirement destinations for this old guy.
Love the boats, hmnnn, maybe I should get one?
Poser with a poser.
Stopped at Rathtrevor Beach Park in Parksville. Have not been here in probably 20 plus years.
When the tide goes out....
Speaking of posers......
The first night we stayed in Qualicum Beach. Digging our kitchen view.
......and that's about as close as she would get.....
It was very "beachy."
.....yes it was......and peaceful.....

....and this was as close as I would get to getting a good seal pic.
A must. Had a pint and food at the Shady Rest Pub right on Qualicum Beach.
Very good food, loved the octopus!
One last look......

Catch up......

A peaceful afternoon filming at Mountain View Cemetery in Vancouver. We did one flashback to a scene shot in the pilot episode of the Good Doctor. We were filming the series ending episode, wow.

Another watching junior play another game at the Scotia Barn in Burnaby, pic.
Then it was time for a little nourishment, lol.
Welcome back!
I drove Dr. Murphy to take a look at a set in New Westminster that will host one of the final scenes of the Good Doctor. In the center spotlight is David Shore, the creator, showrunner, and director of the final episode.
The operating room is all set at Saint Bonaventure Hospital, but no more operations will be performed.
On this day, unbeknownst to us, protesters showed up to picket the Bridge Studios over wage disputes at other operations owned by the parent company, Larco.
No action at this bar set.........
......and the ER is slowly being dismantled.
Found this on a table in the ER set.
Executive Producer and director of many episodes, Mike Listo treated the crew to a sushi feast on this night. The gravy train is coming to a stop soon.
The stairway to nowhere.
Whoa, outside of our Teamster holding "transport shack", the grips 10 ton truck is, well, right there.
Always subtle changes looking out from my waiting for the Good Doctor hangout at Olympic Village.
Unbeknownst (wow, that's twice in one blog) to many, this abandoned warehouse is right behind Olympic Village.
Sandwiched in between is this small marsh, with offers waterfowl, songbirds, and I'm sure much more under closer inspection.
One of my last strolls down the hallowed halls of Saint Bonaventure Hospital.
Interesting walk around Mountain View Cemetery the day we were there, so much history.
Well, I'll be! Someone managed to snare a spot as a background performer for the final episode of the Good Doctor!
Standing on set behind the A camera operator Mike, I can see the Good Doctor on his monitor.
Here's a hint of who is back from Japan after 3 weeks in March. Looking forward to many Oishii treats!
