The Good Doctor, episode 217

A gorgeous sunset on downtown Vancouver, looking across False Creek from Granville Island.
Taking the sky-train on the week-end, don't think I've been this close the front before.

My sorry attempt to get a picture of the lunar eclipse with my phone camera last Sunday.

A new addition to my cast vehicle, a traffic safety charm Ritsue sent me from Hiroshima.

It was the end of filming episode 216 and the start of filming episode 217 on the Good Doctor. Trying to keep track of two episodes meant listening to two radios at the Bridge Studios. (and depending on which stage they were filming in, you had to be in the right spot to hear when cast movements were needed)

….and both episodes changed stages, so I had to move to the other end of the studio.
My new fav route to head to the Sutton hotel for my cast pick-up is through Chinatown.

The end of episode 216 brought us back to Dr. Glassman's house in the Shaughnessy neighbourhood of Vancouver.

We also filmed on Kingsway in Vancouver. (this is the backside of the restaurant we filmed at.)

On this night, we utilized a food truck for one of the scenes.

No, this is not a line-up for food, just a lot of crew that are needed to make this little scene happen.

I had an early pick-up at the Sutton hotel Friday morning, and I beat the rest of the cast drivers working on all the other productions.

On my second pick-up, it was a full house. It was so full with other production vehicles, I had to park out on Burrard St.
On the web.....
Youch! This isn't going to end well.

…..now that's fun

Hmmm..... I guess this will play out depending on whose dog it is.

Quick learner.

I'm sorry, that's just weird.

very cool

I need to know the details before I rant...…

The Good Doctor, episode 216

….the end of the filming of episode 215 of the Good Doctor gave the director, Freddie Highmore (aka: Dr. Shaun Murphy), a chance to relax and close that chapter of his career. Not much time to rest, episode 216 started filming the very same day.
It pays to go to the monthly Teamster 155 union meetings, I scored this handy duffle bag in a prize draw at the end.

A beautiful, toasty warm early birthday present from Ritsue. (and it's cashmere!)

I am, and I am sure you will be just as speechless. I was flipping through the channels last Sunday night, and there it was, another head-scratching  Family Guy t.v. show episode. The cartoon lead, Peter, getting in a fight with Donald Trump? …..and who comes to break it up, Justin Trudeau????

Traffic came to a brief standstill at the Bridge Studios on this day as fellow Teamster peeps Mike and Bob moved a trailer across the lot.

A star is born! Another Teamster, John, was front and center as  Dr. Murphy's bus driver on the latest episode to air  last Monday. Nice bit of air time there, brother!

If you zoom in on this certificate, you will see what I saw on the dash of a car in the Bridge Studio parking lot. Apparently, there was some sort of contest, and the winner was allowed to bring 3 others with them to have a tour of the Good Doctor sets. Awesome! They also were able to meet and get pictures taken with the cast.

…...and then it was Friday, thankfully, not a fraturday.

…..on the web, very good reuse.

….beautiful pic, but glad it's not on my roof.

…….who, who, who's a lucky dog......

Wow! A Space Station view of the aurora borealis.

Art has many forms, I think this form is liking it.

Atta boy Meeka!

The Good Doctor, episode 215.

Faster than a speeding Skytrain, (above our studio in Burnaby) it was back to reality in make-believe land. (aka: the Good Doctor, season 2)

…..in between, my Teamster peep Tracy came over and helped me install a new kitchen faucet.

Dr. Murphy, Dr. Browne and Doctor Lim make their way back to their trailers for a break.
(15 episodes filmed, and only 3 more to go for season 2)

…...and later in the week, a little meeting between Dr. Murphy and a new character on the show. (I cannot say which character, but I can say the new cast member is Daniel Dae Kim)
(It was his hard work that got this show on the air, he is also an executive producer.)

Friday night, and the ER at St. Bonaventure Hospital is all quiet, except for some dummy sleeping on the job. Episode 215, directed by the Good Doctor himself, Freddie Highmore, is finished.

Posted on Facebook, a blast from the past. This is a shot of Pat, Kayla, and myself when we were on the 25th anniversary Rick Hansen relay. (staying warm in Wawa, Ontario)
Promotional pics from IMDB, from episode 210, Quarantine, Dr. Murphy with Santa Pete. (Rell Battle.)

Behind the scenes, Dr. Lim (Christina Chang) tries her camera skills.

Nurse Villanueva (Elfina Luk) and Dr. Reznick ( Fiona Gubelmann) have guts, literally, what a mess!
The conclusion to the quarantine episode before Christmas will air tomorrow night!
On the web, I'm glad they're fans, but don't people have their own lives to celebrate?

I'm not that good at math, but...….. (zoom in on the caption and see if I'm reading into things...…)

That cold, huh?

….ahhhhh the good old days, that's some ride.
.....hello…. who is it?????

.....and we're off!

The Christmas hiatus was a chance to see some of the World Juniors hockey tournament, hosted by Vancouver and Victoria this year. On this night, junior and I watched the Czechs against Russia. Even though it wasn't team Canada, the energy was very high at Rogers arena, it was a great time.
The hiatus was chance to get out with the kids for a beer

Kanpai!

The snapchat (which I know zero about) version.
Heading downtown to the World Juniors, now this is NOT a crowded train, lol.

We met up with my bro Skip and his friend Doris before the game.

Tonight, it was Canada against Finland (who eventually won the tournament). Wow, did we have good seats tonight!

The Finland goalie was mighty thirsty stopping all the shots Canada steered at him. In the end, it was Finland who came out on top.

At home, a modest Christmas
junior the jester

I somehow managed to pull off only my third turkey of my limited cooking career.

With all the fixin's, it was a cozy Christmas with the kids and Teala's boyfriend Duncan. (Thanks to Teala for helping get the meal ready, could not of done it without her.)

Even my pumpkin pie turned out quite delicious.

Later on Xmas night, my brother and Doris came for a visit, sweet!

Another shot from Rogers Arena on the night we saw the Czech/Russia game.
We were right behind the penalty box, and seeing this tape made me want to get back to playing hockey again myself.

We had a lot of Russian visitors to the penalty box on this night.

It didn't matter, the Russians won that game 2-1.

On New Year's Eve it was time to put on my Team Canada jersey that I had bought when I was on the Torch Relay, for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.

….. but first, while junior and I were at the Russia/Czech game, the t.v. camera gave the world a great shot of him behind the penalty box!
The hype for the New Year's Eve, Canada-Russia game was massive. 18,000 people cheering on Canada, the mood was set!

The Russian team had a pre-game huddle. We had great seats again, thanks to junior, who bought the tickets. (( I do not want to know how much he spent. (but thank-you, it was a great night))

….and yes, we were that close.

….the longest line-up to the men's washroom I have ever been in.....

It was a really, really close game.

….but in the end, the Russians won the game, and we had to listen to the Russia national anthem instead of what we all wanted to hear, O Canada.

In the end, the Russians won the bronze medal, and Canada finished 6th.

The hiatus also gave me a chance to clean up a little, a I found this blast from the past in a shoebox. (I cannot even guess when this picture of me and my sister Tammy was taken, but jeez, who's the youngsters?)

It's 2019, ready to pounce on it?
